Preparations for a Spray Tan Session:
Exfoliate & Moisturize your skin before your Spray Tan.
Your skin has a buildup of dead skin cells on top of its top layer. The thicker the layer, the sooner your spray tan will rub off. By exfoliating, you remove the dead skin cells and thus leave a clean canvas for a perfect and longer lasting spray tan. It is important to use either an exfoliating glove, or products that don’t contain any oils, otherwise the oily barrier can block the spray tanning solution from getting through. Moisturize your skin with a water based only product after every bath or shower to increase the life of your tan.

Do not wear any deodorant or makeup before your Spray Tan.
Many deodorants will stop the spray tanning solution from getting through while others will turn the armpits green. A few moisturizers and makeup products can act as a barrier, not allowing the full amount of the solution to attach itself to the skin. As soon as you’ve had your spray tan, you can apply deodorant and make up.

It is recommended to wear loose clothing after your Spray Tan session.
Although you dry out in front of a fan afterwards, the tan needs to “set” and the process will take about 3 to 4 hours. It is best to bring clothes and shoes as loose as possible to wear after your spray tan to make sure nothing rubs off.

Wax or shave your legs before your Spray Tan.
If you need to shave or wax your legs, please do this before your spray tan. If waxing before your spray tan, make sure that you wash your legs thoroughly afterwards to remove any wax residue. If you shave or wax your legs after your spray tan session, you will take off some of your tan during the process.

After Care:
How long do I have to wait after my Spray Tan session to shower?
We recommend that you wait at least 8 hours after tanning to give the tan enough time to fully set. If you shower earlier, you may diminish the intensity of the tan. When you do shower, the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but the rest will remain and create your long-term tan.

Can I go swimming after my Spray Tan session?
You should not swim or shower for a minimum of 8 hours after your spray tan session. Swimming in chlorinated water at any time can bleach the spray tan and possibly cause streaking.

Are there ways to enhance my Spray Tan results?
Yes. Applying a water-based moisturizer prior to tanning helps the skin absorb the Spray Tan solution. Using a moisturizer frequently will help the tan last longer as well. You should not apply any moisturizers or lotions to the skin after tanning until the tan has had time to set, usually 4 to 6 hours. Certain types of moisturizers or lotions applied during this period could cause streaking.
